Extending the Life of Your Car Wash Pressure Washer
A high-pressure washer is one of the most rewarding machines for car detailing, driveway cleaning, and AC servicing. However, because the internal wobble-plate or triplex pump operates under immense pressure (often 100 to 160 Bar), improper handling can ruin the seals within months. Follow these 5 essential maintenance rules.
1. Always Purge Air Before Turning On the Power
Never flick the electric power switch while the pressure hose and pump are empty. Running the pump dry—even for 15 seconds—causes extreme friction and cooks the rubber water seals.
Correct Startup Routine: Connect the garden hose, turn water supply full on, pull the spray gun trigger until a steady solid stream of water flows out, and only then turn on the electrical switch.
2. Keep the Transparent Inlet Water Filter Clean
Pakistani municipal and bore water frequently contains fine silt, sand, and rust flakes. If these particles enter the aluminum or brass pump head, they pit the stainless steel pistons. Inspect the clear mesh filter every 2-3 washes.
3. Nozzle Descaling & Storage
If your spray pattern begins sputtering or surging, the tiny brass orifice in the lance nozzle has mineral calcium buildup. Use the included cleaning pin to poke through the nozzle and rinse backward.
